KALPANA NAGAMPALLI

Kalpana Nagampalli is a Partner at ESCA Legal, where she represents clients in complex intellectual property, commercial, employment, and contract disputes. A seasoned litigator with more than a decade of experience, Kalpana brings a strategic, detail-oriented, and client-first approach to matters involving trademark, copyright, rights of publicity, unfair competition, false advertising, business disputes, wage and hour issues, harassment and discrimination claims, and commercial litigation.

Kalpana has handled high stakes litigation and counseling matters for clients across federal courts throughout the United States. Her practice spans all phases of litigation, including discovery, pleadings, motion practice, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. She works closely with business owners, creative professionals, and in-house counsel to develop practical legal strategies tailored to each client’s goals.

Kalpana’s practice also includes counseling clients on IP creation, protection, enforcement, contract negotiation, brand protection, licensing, coexistence agreements, and commercial risk management. She has represented clients across a wide range of industries, including entertainment, fashion, apparel, art, graphic design, textiles, jewelry, luxury goods, hospitality, food and beverage, publishing, and startups. Her diverse industry experience allows her to understand the creative, commercial, and legal pressures facing modern businesses.

Before practicing in the United States, Kalpana gained experience at major Indian law firms, including one of the country’s leading intellectual property firms. She earned her Bachelor of Socio-Legal Sciences and Laws from Indian Law Society’s Law College and her LL.M. in Corporate and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Kalpana is admitted in New York, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She has been selected to Super Lawyers and Rising Stars, and is Lead Counsel Verified.

Kalpana is also the co-founder of Inspiring Women in Law League, an organization dedicated to supporting, connecting, and mentoring women in the legal profession. In 2024, she was accepted into the Eastern District of New York Mediation Mentorship Program to train and provide pro bono mediation services. Outside of work, Kalpana loves dancing and is a proud aunt to her nieces and nephew.
